The Leak of Madness: The Soul Seekers Prequel Story by Alice J. Black
Peyton is consumed by alcoholism. She doesn’t drink because
she enjoys it, although each drop is exquisite as it slides down her throat.
She drinks to shut down the voices.
The voices of the dead.
Haunted and pursued by the dead, Peyton’s life is a race
from one drink to the next just so she can function, but living in a cloud of
vapors isn’t living.
Dragged to a social event that she wants nothing to do with,
Peyton must abstain from alcohol, at least publicly. At the event she meets two
people who will change her forever. One is living and offers her a chance a
normalcy. The other is dead and offers her death. But with or without alcohol,
can Peyton deal with either?
Ms. Black shows the real struggle of alcoholism through a
different light. Her dark writing twists the real horrors of addiction to that
of the supernatural in an exciting fling that begs for more. This is different
take on the Ghost Story. Well Done!
