Book Review: Tattooed by Pamela Callow

This is the third installment with Kate Lange. However, Kate plays an important but small part in this story. The story actually revolves around two other characters. Although a good plot and a ton of suspense, I would have preferred Kate’s role to be more involving.

The villains in this story are very interesting and well developed.
The ending was realistic and not the typical cookie cutter ending of most stories. I thought that the author was particularly brave in this matter.

If you like a fast-paced, suspenseful, and at times brutally violent story, this story will more than satisfy you.

Long Road to Mercy by David Baldacci

A brand new hero!

Much thanks to my bride for introducing me to the latest hero put forth by David Baldacci, Atlee Pine. She bought not only LONG ROAD TO MERCY but also A MINUTE TO MIDNIGHT for my birthday.

Atlee lost her twin sister to a serial killer while still a child. This has shaped her and is the main reason she is an FBI agent today. Fast forward, twenty years, Atlee is a former Olympian weight lifter who prefers working in less bureaucratic offices. In Charge of a residential office in Arizonian that takes in the Grand Canyon, she had built strong relationships with the locals.

A missing tourist and a mutilated mule is all it takes to start one of the wildest investigations that Atlee has ever been involved in. The entire fate of the world as we know it hangs in the balance if she cannot dodge Russian, North Korean and American rouge agents in a scheme for world dominance.

The pages keep flying and I can’t wait to sink my teeth in the sequel to this great new character.
