Review: This Land of Monsters by Tim Gabrielle

This is a different take on the zombie apocalypse which I really appreciated.  There is all the gnashing and growling that we all take for granted in this type of genre, but there is so much more in this tale. I really like that the author created a battle of good vs evil within the greater story. It raised the level of storytelling. Highly recommended.

Mr. Gabrielle adds honest human behavior in the mix and the results make the story stand out from the rest. As with any great adversity, it brings out the very best in people. But it also brings out the very bad, sometimes evil in others. The author presents both extremes in this action packed and suspenseful tale of horror and sacrifice.

The story follows Nash a teen that has lost his mother and his abusive step-father as they try to survive in a world gone mad. They find a group of survivors and all should be right, but there are others who demand obedience or death. How much would you give to survive? How low would you go? These are the questions that the author rams in our face and demands we ask ourselves.

While the infected bash against the gates, the true monsters are within the sanctuary. In a fight against their very humanity, can Nash and his small group of friends take on and win against both sides or will they become consumed?

For transparency, I was given an Advanced Reading Copy in exchange for an honest review.
