Book Review: One Good Deed by David Baldacci

Gripping Who-Done-It!

Baldacci dishes up a great mystery story. Set after World War II, we meet Aloysius Archer. Scarred by the fighting in Europe, he’s released from prison for a crime he did not commit. Ordered to serve his parole in Poca City, he is offered a large amount of money to retrieve a car that was used for collateral for a defaulted loan. When bodies start dropping, Archer becomes the prime suspect and may face the rope.

There are more games being played in the darkness of this rough city. Archer cannot trust anyone to help him find the real culprit. And he’s running out of time. Not until the last chapter is the villain revealed and there was no hint. Great fun.
