Sleeping Beauties by Stephen and Owen King

Does the Master of All Things Strange and Scary have a crystal ball? This book comes out on the heels of the #ME TOO movement and speaks volumes of the way women are treated in today’s society. During this fast paced story, we meet the worst and the best of mankind as they struggle to deal with a phenomenon that has the world’s female population falling into a dead sleep.

As always, King creates characters that you both love and hate with a slash of the weird to keep things spiced up and hopping.
Without giving away the ending, I was left with the feeling that nothing was learnt and that with time, the abuse would continue.

I would definitely recommend the story to any of King’s fans and to new ones as well.  Not his best, in my opinion, but it is right up there. As an author, I would have loved the opportunity that Owen had to learn from the Master story-teller.
