 Abandoned by her father to a harsh island to fend for herself after the death of her mother, Fable must scrimp, scheme, and fight her way for survival and a way off the island. Determined to find her place back to her father’s side, she enlists the help of a reluctant trader and his crew, but who to trust is only one of the dangers, now that she has escaped the island.

This is a fresh look at YA fantasy. It has a ring of a pirate story and is as intriguing as it is exciting. Now I must wait until the library releases the sequel to see how our young heroine fairs against the mangy varmints that stand against her and her friends.
